RNW, a 100% subsidiary of the NW Group, has been granted electricity supplier status by the Ministry of the Economy, Finance, and Industrial, Energy and Digital Sovereignty.
RNW has obtained official authorization to operate as an electricity supplier in France for residential and business customers. This authorization, published in the Official Journal on Friday, June 19 2026, marks a new step in the group’s development. RNW will now be able to offer an integrated solution combining electricity supply, energy storage batteries, and smart charging for electric vehicles. Thanks to this combination, customers will benefit from greater control over their consumption and increased protection against energy price volatility.
This development is part of RNW’s strategy to develop comprehensive “behind-the-meter” energy solutions by directly optimizing customers’ installations without requiring new grid connections.
RNW is a wholly owned subsidiary of the NW Group. The group, a leader in battery storage in France and Finland with 2 GWh of installed capacity, is recognized as one of Europe’s leading energy-specialized groups. With this new business, the NW Group is strengthening its position as an integrated energy provider covering the entire value chain: storage, flexibility, charging, and now electricity supply.
For the group, this authorization marks a new milestone in its ambition to become a major player in the electrification and decarbonization of the economy.
“RNW brings together development experts, electricity market specialists, and tech developers. It is this combination of talents that enables us today to offer innovations that support the energy transition and are accessible to everyone,” says Jean-Christophe Kerdelhué, Chairman and CEO of the NW Group.
